The TCAT Nashville Sumner County Campus in Portland, Tennessee is a new approximately 78,000-square-foot workforce training facility. The project includes a two-story academic and administration building connected to a series of single-story shop and lab buildings supporting Automotive, Welding, Industrial Electricity, HVAC, and Machine Tool Technology programs. The two-story front building includes Cosmetology, CIT, AutoCAD, classrooms, administration, a community room, and a community health center, and is intended to create a stronger presence along South Broadway. The campus layout was carefully organized around the onsite floodway conditions to maximize buildable area and parking capacity while maintaining efficient circulation throughout the campus. Exterior materials will primarily include brick, stone, glass curtainwall, and metal panels to create a modern character. The project will be constructed in two phases to allow the existing campus to remain operational during construction.
