Regional Intervention Program State Headquarters

This commission serves as the first new facility built specifically for the Regional Intervention Program, a part of the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The Program began over 50 years ago with a mission to guide families with young children (ages 2-6 years old) experiencing challenging behaviors. Within the context of 13,500 sf, the new headquarters houses a variety of child-focused classrooms and observation areas, as well as a Parent Resource Center, community room and staff offices. Located within the context of a residential neighborhood, the challenge of this commission was to create a facility that serves the program and their clients while reflecting the context of the surrounding residential structures and agricultural landscape.
